It has been a pleasant surprise to see that gas prices are going down. I was able to purchase gas today at 2.90 a gallon. On msn.com I read that on Monday the average price of regular gasoline was 2.923 a gallon and that gas is less than 3$ a gallon in 30 states. My question is how long is this going to last? As for now, I'm enjoying the lowering gas prices.

There is no doubt that this is good news. I need to say that I was actually impressed to see the prices go down. In my entire life, I never saw this in my country, Brazil. Gas price there always go up, and even after the crisis they stay up. I am glad to see prices favoring the consumers.
But now that gas prices are down, I am wondering if the price of everything else will go down as well. We all noticed that as gas went up, everything else went up: electronics, furniture and even food. I mentioned furniture, because I just had a little boy. And when my wife and I found out we were expecting, we started saving money to buy our son’s bedroom furniture. We had already chosen the nursery we wanted, and we knew how much we would have to save. But when the day came to buy it, the prices were all way above. When we questioned what the cause of such a big increase was, the store mentioned the gas prices, which were affecting their transportation. Now that gas prices are down, I am wondering if they will lower their prices as well or just take the advantage of charging a higher price. This applies also to all types of goods, especially food. I look forward to see what will happen.
A while back the news said that the state of Utah is one of the states that is over the national average. States like Kansas, Nebraska, and Misssissippi have the lowest prices in the nation.
For some of you, you fill up at $2.90 a gallon. Well yesterday I filled up at Maverik which had gas advertized at $2.85, but with your Maverik card you can save 2 cents per gallon. I payed less that half of the amount that I payed one month ago.
