Don't Move to Canada

I just glanced at my Facebook page and over half of my 'friends' said they were going to move to Canada due to Obama winning the Presidential Election. That right there just irks me a little; well a lot. To the people who wish to move to Canada or would rather be in Canada I say this:

Have you no pride or faith in your Country? Our Forefathers fought long and hard for the independence of this Country, and with that came the ability to vote. We as a people have the ability to choose who leads our Country, and this time around the majority ruled in the favor of Obama, and whether you like it or not he will be our next President. We as a people chose our President, and we need to have faith in our decision. I realize for some of you this was not ultimately your decision, but just because you didn't vote for Obama doesn't mean you are somehow exempt from his 'rule'. I am sure that if McCain was elected there would be people who felt the same way. No one will ever be truly happy with the outcome of an election, but moving to Canada or any other country isn't going to make it any better. You will have to submit to whoever is ruling and possibly without the opportunity to vote, and lose other freedoms as well.

I am not saying that you should agree entirely with Obama; you just need to admit to the fact that he will be our next President. You can argue and be mad all you want, but that isn't going to change anything. This election is a historical moment for our Country and the least you can do is recognize that. We shouldn't become divided over this election; we should become united, after all it was our decision. Now lets have some faith in our Country and its people and see what will happen in the future. Who knows Obama might surprise you.

I hope that Obama surprises us in a good way.
