On Thursday evening Obama took center stage in Denver, CO and in many homes of americans via television. As I too watched this truly motivating speaker I was very much turned off with his assumption of the american people as a whole. There were so many things that Obama "promised" to do that is impossible to do. 1) He said that we was going to go through the nation budget line by line and elimate programs that do not need to be there. The President of the United States is the most powerful man in the world. Even He does not have the power to do that. Only congress can set the budget and the President either will or deny it... as a whole. He can not go through it line by line. Obama has been in congress for almost 6 years. Why don't the presidential canidates who are so concerned with un-necessary spending cut the astronomical pay of congressmen and the president? 2) Bill Clinton had Osama Bin Ladens head inbetween the cross hairs of a US marine. and he gave the order not to shoot. George W. Bush had the same oppritunity but followed by giving the order to not fire. Why? Because they know that the people who are in line to succeed him as the leader of the tereorists have much more hatred to the U.S.A. then he does. And they are much more willing to sacrifice then he is. Mr. Obama is simply the American people what we want to hear. Frankly, it is getting pretty annoying.
I am very interested to hear what John McCain will have to say during the Republican Nation Convention.
